PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist primary/secondary victims/survivors of human trafficking in trauma resilience. Delivery of high quality therapeutic services, crisis intervention, support, and advocacy services to victims/survivors.

Brief Description

Assist primary/secondary victims/survivors of human trafficking in trauma resilience. Delivery of high quality therapeutic services, crisis intervention, support, and advocacy services to victims/survivors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides direct counseling to primary and secondary survivors, which includes but may not be limited to: assessment; individual or group counseling; and information and referral.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of clients as prescribed by the agency, including but not limited to progress notes; quarterly reports; and assessment summaries.
  • Coordinates services with other referring agencies.
  • Intervenes with police, employers and/or landlords to ensure sensitive and effective responses policies, and procedures relative to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
  • Makes referrals and advocates on the client’s behalf for emergency and routine mental and physical health care.
  • Provides direct services and personal advocacy to victims/survivors in resolving issues related to human trafficking, which includes criminal justice advocacy and assisting victims/survivors in securing rights and remedies.
  • Collaborates with and trains other YWCA and community agency staff to assure seamless service delivery to victims/survivors.
  • Advocates for the needs of victims/survivors through participation on task forces and other working groups, when needed, as approved by direct supervisor.
  • Maintains all necessary records, reports, and statistics.
  • Safeguards confidential information gained as a result of the job.
  • Participates regularly in supervision, which may include, but is not limited to: group consultation and individual supervision.
  • Provide direct services to program participants as needed.
  • Participates in team and staff meetings.
  • Complies with applicable local, state and federal licensing requirements/certification and/or regulations.
    Completes and facilitates ethical risk assessment of individuals re: child/elder abuse; harm to self/other.
  • As a YWCA employee, projects a positive image of the Association and its programs to the community, the Association and the program.
  • Work cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff and volunteers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  • Orientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose and One Imperative.
  • Racial Justice Training
  • Orientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, Confidentiality, Mandatory Reporting.
  • Other appropriate training and in-service which will occur during employment.
