Development and Strategic Expansions Specialist

To provide administrative support for the strategic expansion of Improving the Lives of Children through fund development, program expansions, and community partnerships which includes grant management assistance, workplan implementation, and strategic planning.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday with some weekends and evenings

Brief Description

To provide administrative support for the strategic expansion of Improving the Lives of Children through fund development, program expansions, and community partnerships which includes grant management assistance, workplan implementation, and strategic planning.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Meeting facilitation with the goal of workplan implementation for both contracts and community project coordination.
    1. Convene and facilitate the Planning Team of the Edison ECE Career Pathway. It is anticipated that Planning Team meetings will be scheduled at no more than a monthly basis.
    2. Additional meeting facilitation responsibilities could be added as strategic partnerships expand.
  2. Take an active role in Work Groups that continue to be active and relevant for the Edison ECE Career Pathway (HR Small Group, Parent Literacy, and Workforce Literacy).
  3. Take an active role in ELNC-Kalamazoo strategic planning and act as an advocate on behalf of the providers within the collaboration.
  4. Be responsive to the Phase 3-Integration action items that are specific to the position as defined in the approved ECIC grant proposal. This includes serving as a liaison to Southwest Michigan Child Care Resources (CCR), and supporting ELP peer support networks that were created through the Edison ECE Career Pathway.
  5. Support strategic consultation for Kalamazoo programmatic implementation, partnership development, and fundraising activities for ELNC.
  6. Support Cradle Kalamazoo coordination for ELNC.
  7. Support Edison ECE Career Pathway integration into ELNC-Kalamazoo.
  8. Grant management and oversight support.
  9. Strategic planning and budget development preparation and follow up support.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. YWCA working space is located at our main building (downtown Kalamazoo). Opportunities to work remotely.
  2. Potential for outdoor events.
  3. Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, some lifting.
  4. Frequently required to sit.
  5. Occasionally required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  6. Continually required to talk or hear.
  7. Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
  8. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  9. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10 pounds.
  10. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  1. Interested in/actively pursuing increased academic attainment in a field related to community, family, and/or child development.
  2. Demonstrated organization skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  4. Interest in/experience with public speaking.
  5. Must have a deep understanding and established commitment to communities experiencing systemic violence.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. ILC grant management and oversight support.
  2. ILC strategic planning and budget development preparation and follow up support.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Orientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose and One Imperative.
  2. Racial Justice Training.
  3. CPR, first aid, and blood-borne pathogen certification (within 1 year of hire date).
  4. Pronoun Training.
  5. Orientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Confidentiality, Mandatory Reporting.
  6. Other appropriate training and in-service which will occur during employment.
