Specifically, the strategically sound management of YWCA Kalamazoo advertising on all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, and related analytics. The management of the YWCA Kalamazoo website, including design, photography, videos, copy, links, storefront and related analytics, as well as management of our website host company. Lastly, management of all YWCA Kalamazoo email promotions and employee online email signatures, including design, links, promotional banners and related analytics, as well as managing email blast and employee email signature host companies.

As Digital Media Coordinator of YWCA Kalamazoo, you will have the opportunity to showcase your digital media expertise and strong technical skills, while producing engaging digital media campaigns that showcases our organizational mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining a strong and growing understanding of YWCA’s voice, aesthetic, and brand as it relates to its presence on social media, website and email digital platforms.
  2. Plan, build and execute digital marketing campaigns that ensure the proper landing pages, promotional assets, tracking and analysis.
  3. Research, write, proofread and edit written content for all digital campaigns.
  4. Maintaining the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok social media presence and outreach.
  5. Developing targeted and strategically sound social media campaigns that reflects YWCA Kalamazoo’s mission and values and increase public engagement.
  6. The ability to collaborate across various departments to ensure social media content is up to date and accurate.
  7. Researching various topics and trends to maintain an up-to-date presence on social media.
  8. Availability to attend various YWCA Kalamazoo events to produce real-time social media posts.
  9. Stay abreast of public relations activities so breaking news activities are posted in social media platforms in a timely manner.
  10. Creating social media guidance for fellow staff members as required.
  11. The management of all aspects of the YWCA Kalamazoo website, including creative design, photography, video, content, links and storefront and associated analytics.
  12. Management of the YWCA Kalamazoo website host company.
  13. Management of YWCA Kalamazoo email promotions, including creative design, content photography, video, content, links and associated analytics.
  14. Management of YWCA Kalamazoo email blast companies.
  15. Management of YWCA Kalamazoo employee email signatures in collaboration with the Human Resources and Marketing departments.
  16. Management of the employee signature host company.
  17. Brainstorm and present innovative digital marketing concepts and strategies to the marketing team for approval.
  18. Collaborate with different departments and teams at YWCA Kalamazoo to ensure brand consistency and integrity across all digital marketing applications .
  19. Ensure YWCA Kalamazoo digital content and platforms include accessibility options and integration.
  20. Assist with planning, logistics, coordination and execution of event day responsibilities.
  21. Maintain confidentiality and discretion around sensitive information, including trademarks, proprietary information, and victim services.
  22. Must adhere to strict deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ability to work remotely as required.
  2. YWCA office location: Cornerstone Building 405 W Michigan Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
  3. Off-site locations (community-based organizations and other associations in Michigan); Promotional events; Networking events; Community Engagement events, etc.
  4. Potential outdoor events.
  5. Actions: Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, some lifting.
  6. Regularly required to sit or stand at a computer.
  7. Regularly required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  8. Continually required to talk and hear.
  9. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  10. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision.
  11. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  12. The employee must often lift and/or move more than 20 pounds when setting up audio-visual equipment.
  13. Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Frequent driving to and from meetings in the community. Frequent use of camera and audiovisual equipment, laptop and desktop computers, large monitors.
  14. Not fixed position; works in fast-paced environment.
  15. Unpredictable in nature due to project assignments.

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  1. Experience creating marketing and communications materials with a focus on anti-racism, gender equity, and social justice work. Extracurricular, volunteer, and community organizing communications experience will satisfy this requirement.
  2. Experience creating viral and/or engaging digital media content.
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or public relations. Candidates can substitute 6 or more years of work or volunteer experience in the field of digital media management, marketing, communications, or public relations.
  4. Strong grasp of social media analytics and experience using management tools such as Hootsuite or a similar software
  5. Advanced knowledge of the strategic applications for all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. Social media expertise should also be reflected in the candidate’s resume and portfolio.
  6. Advanced knowledge of the creative design guidelines for all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
  7. Experience creating engaging social media campaigns that features appealing visuals and a focus on simplicity and accessibility.
  8. Knowledge of accessibility for people with disabilities in digital media and the ability to prioritize accessibility in social media campaigns.
  9. The recruitment and management of social media ambassadors as required.
  10. Experience developing and executing email marketing campaigns and analyzing results.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate directly, professionally, and effectively across departments, with stakeholders, and vendors is vital to this role.
  12. Demonstrated ability to follow/adjust routines, multitask, and respond to change as needed.
  13. Demonstrated organizational and collaboration skills as a part of a team.
  14. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  15. Ability to think critically, problem solve, and navigate complex relationships.
  16. Experience with administrative tasks such as scheduling, phone calls, organizational tasks, drafting emails and memos, multitasking, research, and evaluation.
  17. Eagerness to learn about systemic injustices impacting equity in policy and society broadly, as a part of the work toward racial and gender equity.
  18. Must pass background checks and Central Registry Clearance.
  19. Bilingual candidates and candidates with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, German, Chinese, or French are highly encouraged to apply.
